Spinach contains many vitamins, minerals and large amounts of chlorophile which guarantees antioxidant, depurative and laxative characteristics. However, it also has a contraindication:  spinach is full of ossalic acid which makes part of these components, mostly the iron and calcium less absorbable by the organism. The antioxidant action which is very important for the organism and to prevent cardiovascular diseases, is guaranteed by the vitamin B and C (spinach contains asubstantial quantity of folic acid), from carotenoids, clorophile and lutein. The lutein in particular is very useful for sight.  The cellulose may help as a laxative;  spinach in general has a light laxative and depurative effect. Among these characteristics spinach also has a light soothing effect which may be useful in case of burns.
